About Four Star BSDCWe are an official UBSDA club (United Belgian Shepherd Dog Association) and a UKC-licensed conformation and obedience club. Our members are Belgian Shepherd fanciers, enthusiasts, lovers, trainers, and breeders from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Our interests include conformation, obedience, agility, herding, tracking, therapy work, and breeding better, healthier Belgians. We support the "Total Dog" concept and share a love for the multitalented Malinois, Tervuren, Groenendael, and Laekenois varieties of the Belgian Shepherd. |

Our Parent OrganizationsThe United Belgian Shepherd Dog Association (UBSDA) is the parent club for Belgian Shepherd Dog clubs affiliated with the United Kennel Club (UKC). The UKC accepted registration of Belgian Shepherd Dogs in March of 1991 for their full program, including conformation shows, in conjunction with the birth of UBSDA. The founders of the UBSDA embraced the UKC's decision to register the BSD as one breed with four varieties here in the United States, as they are world-wide. UKC's standard for the Belgian Shepherd Dog is based upon the FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale) standard. UBSDA also heartily approves of the UKC’s “total dog” concept. The United Kennel Club (UKC) is the second oldest and second largest all-breed dog registry in the United States. Founded in 1898, the registry has always supported the idea of the “total dog,” meaning a dog that looks and performs equally well. UKC clubs offer obedience and agility trials, conformation shows, hunting programs, and other events for the 145 plus breeds it registers.
